Stemming from the author’s own experience with bloggers, One Nation Under Blog showcases the power and peril of blogs. Additionally, Wallace’s involvement in Sugar Land’s nationally recognized Internet Safety program galvanized him to focus on the issue of freedom of speech and how it affects our personal freedoms of safety and decency. Sugar Land’s Internet Safety program has received numerous awards including the Livability Award by the U.S. Conference of Mayors. Now, Wallace speaks internationally in an effort to educate communities about the importance of Internet safety.
Wallace’s concern for free speech, along with the birth of the blog and its unintended consequences, inspired him to write One Nation Under Blog. He has lived in Sugar Land, Texas, since 1993 with his wife, Kathy, and two daughters.
